*********** Lucky Wife Of An Recovering Alcoholic !!!
I will start off with who I am. My name is Tina G, I am the lucky wife of Jeff G. Almost 2 years ago I had plans to file for a DIVORCE without the knowledge of my husband. I felt like I had no other choice, Life with an alcoholic is not easy and I had, had enough. On February 28, 2005 Jeff decided that he might be an alcoholic. Now here I am writing this letter to you good people. When Jeff started in AA I did not and still do not understand addiction, but I do understand the need for service work and how it has effected my husband. Jeff was asked to work in the AA archives by someone who I am very thankful for, David L. I am also thankful for Eddie J. who stood by Jeff when he really needed someone to talk to. Thanks to the both of you. Now back to the reason for my letter. I have watched for almost 2 years now and wonder why there are so few AA members who know about what is in the archive's building. I see all these people at meetings and all the fun stuff at the club house like eating meetings, holiday eating meetings but when it comes time to taking care of the club house or assisting with archives I see very few people show up. Jeff says that the archives helped him out a lot and I can see this. Jeff went from a man who could not go from 1 hr to the next without a drink to a man who has put God, His family & AA at the top of his list. I am thankful for the Area 64 Archives and wish more people could or would have the experience of giving your time to your future. Your history is in that building and I bet I know more about it than some of you and I am not an alcoholic. Thank you to all of you who know me and my wonderful husband Jeff and know what I am talking about, and for those of you took this personal, MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE! Thank you The Lucky wife of a recovering alcoholic!!! Tina G.
