Archives Chairman Report

This quarter has been overwhelming. It started with Friends of Bill and Lois Club MAAC workshop. Milton Mc C. gave his thirty-year history in sobriety.
Then came the 59th Southeastern Conference/50th Area 64 Convention. Tom N. of Clarksville TN. brought a war chest of his personal archives. Which included 1st edition 1st printing (BIG RED) a 1945 Big Book, which was printed to government, specs. Saturday Evening Post Magazine, and Liberty Magazine. Several pieces of original literature printed by General Service, plus Area 64 and MAAC Traveling Archives. We owe a debt of gratitude to Tom for bringing his personal history and for sharing it with us.
We had an opportunity to share with several Delegates from the Southeast and Trustee at Large and our standing Southeast Trustee, seeking support for the 9th National Archives Workshop.

What a great event the Southeastern Regional Convention was. What a treat it was for me to be invited by the host committee to help with the archives display and witness the interest a great many showed in viewing our displays! To realize that Bill W. was there in 1947 is awesome. Hope I am around for the next one in Memphis. I would like to express my appreciation to Charlie M. for inviting me along on the trip to Ft. Lauderdale to attend The National Archives Workshop. Having been a collector of AA history for a number of years, it was a joy and privilege to view the displays and attend the workshops. It is always enjoyable to talk to and listen to those that know what they are doing. The host committee did a great job of presenting and making everyone feel welcome.

Both Charlie and the Chicago delegate did a very good job of presenting their bids for the September 2004 workshop, which will be held in Murfreesboro Tennessee. I am very grateful for the privilege and am honored to help represent area 64 at this event.
